Summary: ninth-grade student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the Miami metropolitan area of Parkland, Florida who was among one of the 17 victims killed in that school's massacre when a gunman opened fire at students and staff members with an assault rifle outside a three-story building after activating a fire alarm at the South Florida high school campus, in which witnesses identified 19-year-old expelled student Nikolas Cruz as the assailant and it became the deadliest school shooting in United States history since the 1999 Columbine High School massacre that came at a period of heightened public support for gun control following attacks in Las Vegas, Nevada and Sutherland Springs, Texas respectively in October and November 2017.
